Another Finish

I am starting to feel better and have been stitching more so I finished stitching up another piece last night.

This is Blackbird Designs Sweetheart Sampler from their Love Is In The Air booklet.

It is stitched on 30ct. Straw Linen from WDW

Stitched with Cherry Bark from GAST.

I started Valentine Freebie from The Primitive Hare last night. I hope to be able to share the finish in the next day or two.

Be Mine?

Where have I been you ask? I have been sick. The while family came down with something. The DD started with Croup that turned into pneumonia. Then DS got Croup with a sinus infection, DH got a sinus infection and I got a cold that turned into pneumonia. I am done with this crap. It is time for spring to come and all these illnesses to go away.

I have done a little stitching, but not much. Here is the one piece I managed to finish this pass week.

It was a really fun stitch. It will be finished as a stocking as soon as I find the perfect fabric for the back of it. Now that our major basement renovation is done, I am going to get a sewing/craft room, so maybe I will be able to find some fabric from my stash, otherwise I will have to go shopping and who hates stash shopping.

Have to go get a few things done before picking up the kiddos from school and before my mom and dad arrive for a visit later today.

I Hate Winter

Sorry for not posting in a week. I thought we were on the upswing from being sick, but was I wrong. My daughter got a sinus infection and then my son got one. My daughter got antibotics and got better, until last Friday night. She started running a temp and coughing that sounded like a seal. I took her to the doctor this morning and found out she has Croup. I feel so bad for her and wish there was something more I could do to make her feel better and then on top of it, I got a cold and don't feel like doing much. I HATE WINTER! I want all these germs gone and my kiddos and I better.

I have managed a little stitching, but not much.

This cute piece arrived in the mail today from Dalene in South Africa. We were partners in the 123 Stitch Valentine Day Exchange and this is what I received. I Love It! I have her piece stitched and finished. Just have to mail it and hoping to do that tomorrow.

This is the little piece I finished stitching last night. It is a freebie from Cross Eyed Cricket called Wicked Kiss. It is stitched on a piece of 32 ct. Lavendar fabric from my stash. I used the recommended DMC floss and Krenkik braid. Not sure how I am going to finish it off yet.

I did start Jolly from Miss Crescent's Crowne last night. The pattern can be found in the 2011 JCS Ornament Magazine. Hoping to finish it up today and be back tomorrow with a picture.

Have to run. Daughter is starting to cough again and need to help son with his homework.

I have had a very productive stitching weekend. I was able to stitch up another little Valentine piece. Now I am hoping to get them finished into pin pillows or hanging ornaments for Valentine's Day.

This is Love from the Stitcherhood. It was a free chart from a couple of years ago. I stitched it on 32ct. Ember from Picture this Plus using DMC 310. The picture is a little dark, but the fabric is pinkish red. It is a very pretty color.

I did get some housework done this weekend to. This week is all about orgazining and decluttering. We have to much stuff and it is time to part with it, except for my stash. I have been reading a book called Organizing Simplicity and it has some really great ideas that I am going to try and incorperate into our daily lives. I also ordered a book about how to make housework simple and fun, plus how to make your own cleaners. I am trying to get away from the store cleaners and make my own. Does anyone do this and if so, does it work well?

Oh Sweet Valentine

I am on a roll. I have another finish. This is such a sweet stitch. I loved every minute and was sad when the stitching was all done.

Oh Sweet Valentine is a free chart from PrimitiveBettys. She had the words and inside of the feathers charted in red, but I love this fabric (Picture this Plus Phonenix) and had to use it, so I stitched the works and feathers in white. I love how it turned out. I am thinking of finishing it into a little pincushion.

I am off to do some more stitching. I am thinking another little Valentine piece. I am in a Valentine mood right now.

First Finish of 2012

I am doing the happy dance. I have my first finish of the year.

This is Keep Love by Shepherd's Bush and inserted into a small treasure box. It was a very fun and fast stitch. It would make a great Valentine present for a loved one or to keep for yourself.

It has been snowing here all day. We have at least 6 inches on the ground and it is still coming down. I think we are going to stay home all weekend and I am going to have a major case of stitch butt and get lots of stitching done.

What is everyone else doing this weekend? I hope the weather is more pleasant where you are and you get lots of stitching done!

UCJC Days 14-17

I have made a change as to how I am doing the UCJC. Instead of starting a new piece each day of January, I am putting a few stitches into each of the 31 pieces I would like to start, and then I can just pull what I feel like stitching on and stitch on it. Plus I am loving this challenge and don't want to wait.

Today I am sharing my starts 14-17

This is Halloween Garden from the Primitive Needle. It was a limited edition kit that had the chart and fabric. The fabric is 35ct. Putty from WDW and am stitching it with the recommened WDW floss.

Here is the start of Wicked Night. The designer is The Primitive Hare and can be found in the JCS Halloween Collection Book. I love this design, but think it will take me awhile as it is done in all black and stitching long periods of time with one color gets to me easily.

Here is the start of Pumpkin Blossom Pincushion from Blackbird Designs. It can be found in their Loose Feathers Autumn Leaflet. I love this piece and will be gorgeous as a pincushion.

Finally this is Pumpkin Blossom Sewing Box. Also by Blackbird Designs and can be found in their Loose Feathers Autumn Leaflet. I am using the recommened threads for this piece and the piece above. I am loving this piece also and it was hard to put aside, but I am going to start my 31 projects.

UCJC Days 12 & 13

I know I have been slacking the pass couple of days, but I didn't get alot of stitching time, so just decided to do one post and share two pictures.

The photo of above is Lizzie Kate Chicks Rules. It was a limited edition kit that included the pattern, fabric and buttons. I am using what is included and stitching with GAST, CC and DMC floss. I love the colors and it is very springy looking.

Above is my meager start on Joy from Blackbird Designs. It is in the 2011 JCS Ornament Magazine. I am using the recommended Belle Soie Silks and stitching on 35ct Straw Linen. It is a beautiful design and I enjoyed stitching what I did, but I was so tired last night, that I fell asleep stitching.

That's all for now folks. Going to help the kiddos clean up their rooms and then it is laundry and stitching for the day. Hope everyone gets lots of stitching done this weekend.

Here is my start for Day 11. It is Creepy Pincushion from Shepherd's Bush. It is a complete kit with fabric, floss, pattern, beads and ribbon. I changed out the fabric from the 32ct that was included to 40 ct. Morning Dew from Silkweavers. I don't know why, but I have been on a kick of stitching on 40 ct.

We are under a Winter Storm Advisory starting tomorrow morning through Friday morning. They are saying we can get 4-8 inches. I was really enjoying our spring like weather. I am so not ready for snow. My kids are, as they are hoping for snow days. I really need to move somewhere warm. I am definately not a snow, or cold type person.

I am off to decide what my start will be for tomorrow. Should it be another Halloween piece or maybe Christmas, Valentine or Easter. What holiday do you think I should start?

It is a really fun stitch. As you can see from my starts this is going to be the year of Halloween stitching. Halloween is my favorite and I have alot of Halloween patterns in my stash. I am hoping to also get some Christmas ornaments stitched for my tree this year to. So much to stitch and so little time.

Wouldn't it be nice to Eat, Sleep, Stitch all the time? We could have a Cleaning Elf, a Cooking Elf, a Shopping Elf, etc. All we had to do it Eat, Sleep and Stitch! We can dream about it though.

Eat, Sleep, Stitch is the name of my UCJC Day 9 Start.

The Designer is Cherrywood Designs. I am stitching it on 30ct. Almond Bar from Week Dye Works. I am using Crescent Colours and Sampler Threads. It is stitching up faster than I thought and it is a really fun stitch. When it is all stitched, I am going to finish it off into a fun, funky pillow.

UCJC Starts for Days 7 & 8

Here are my starts for Days 7 & 8. They are both Blackbird Designs Halloween Stocking from their Tis' Halloween Booklet. I am really enjoying these stockings and just might have to find the booklets in my stash from their montly stocking series.

Sorry the pictures are not the best, I couldn't get the lighting right and my 2 little ones are getting on each others nerves.

This one is called Night Song and was picked out by my son. He says this one will be for him. We will have to see, as I would love to put it on my Halloween Tree this year.

This one is Candy Corn. My daughter choose this one for me. She thought all the Candy Corns were cute. It will be really cute when it is done.

Hallowe'en

I know I am a day late, but here is my start for Day 6 of the UCJC Challenge.

This is Hallowe'en Stocking by Blackbird Designs. It can be found in their Tis Hallowe'en Booklet. I am stitching it on 40ct. fabric, using the recommended threads. You will be seeing more of these stockings for my challenge. I would like to have enough to adorn by Black Wooden Tree for Halloween this year.

How is everyone else doing with their stitching? I am loving this challenge and can't wait to see what I have stitched by the end of 2012. I feel this is going to be a great stitching year for me as I finally put my Facebook games behind me.

What Do You See?

My start for Day 5 of the UCJC is again from Blackbird Designs. It is called Deer in the Meadow and from their December Stocking Leaflet. It is a joy to stitch and I am really looking forward to having more homemade ornaments on my tree this year. I am again using GAST, CC and DMC floss to stitch it up. The fabric is a piece from my stash. Unfortumatly I don't know anything else about it.

Sorry about the glare, but my camera was giving me fits and I really wanted to get this posted.

What will Day 6 bring? I am torn between starting another Christmas Ornament or a Halloween piece. What would you pick? Christmas or Halloween? I guess you will have to wait until tomorrow night to see.

Snowy Eve

It is not a Snowy Eve here, but the name of the pattern I started for my 4th day of the UCJC.

Here is my start of Snowy Eve by Blackbird Designs. The pattern is in the December Stockings Booklet. I am using DMC, CC and GAST. I don't have all the colors called for, so I am making changes to fit what I already have in my stash. Sorry the fabric look orangish-yellow. It is actually a really nice tanish-brown color, I couldn't get a good picture. It seems to stitch up quickly, so I should be able to have it stitched and finished for my tree by the time Christmas rolls around in December.

Off to pick out tomorrow's new start!

Fright?

Here is my start for Day 3 of the UCJC. It is Fright from Shepherd's Bush. It is a kit that included the fabric, threads, button, and chart. Since I am in a mood to stitch on 40ct fabric, I changed out the fabric to 40ct. Rock Quarry from Silkweavers. You will see that I love this color. I am using it for the piece I started on Day 2.

I am making a change to the challenge. Instead of going off the list I created of 31 projects, I am just going to start which ever project grabs my interest that day. I have been reorganizing my stash and have found lots I can't wait to stitch, so by creating my list as I go along, I will be more inclined to stay with the challenge. :)

If you check out my Challenge page, the list will only be up to the day that we are on. So, by the time we hit the beginning of February, there will be 31 charts listed there.

Off to fondle my stash and find my new start for tomorrow.

Light Your Way from Blackbird Designs. The pattern can be found in their Trix or Treat Booklet. I would have had more stitched, but I changed fabric 3 times, before I finally found this one. I am stitching it on 40ct. Rock Quarry Linen from Silkweavers. I am using DMC floss as my hand dyed floss is all buried in my front room since we are having a major reorganization of our basement done.

Now I am off to figure out what to start for Day 3. So much to stitch and so little time!

1st Start of 2012

Here is my first start of the year. This is Haunted Hill House by Homespun Elegance. I am stitching it on 28ct. Carpe Noctum OOKA from Sunny Dyes Fabric and using DMC thread. It is a fun stitch!

You will be seeing more starts from me this month as I have joined the Ultimate Crazy January Challenge. The challenge is to start a new piece every day in January, so by February 1st, you have 31 new starts. Then you finish them off through the course of the year. I am feeling very ambitious and feel I can get it done, plue make progress on my WIP/UFO list.

Happy New Year!

Did everyone has a great New Year's Eve? Did you do anything special. We just had a low key day at home with the kids. They were excited because they made it to midnight without falling asleep. I thought they would had slept late this morning, but they are both already up.

I did do some stitching yesterday and finished 2 pieces up. Here they are!

Out Flying is by the Sampler Girl. It was a fun, fast stitch. I stitched and finished it last night. I am thinking of having it framed with a hook at the bottom of the frame for my car keys. When I am gone my keys would be gone, and I would be "Out Flying" I used the recommened DMC and GAST and a piece of unknown fabric I had in my stash.

You Make My Heart Happy is from Homespun Elegance. It was another fast, fun stitch. I used DMC to stitch this and 30ct. Parchment from WDW. I am going to finish it into a long pin pillow.

It's Halloween

Okay, I know we just got done with Christmas and tomorrow is New's Year's Eve, but I love Halloween and just had to stitch this up. It is a pattern from Raise the Roof. I purchased it when they were selling it as a Limited Edition kit, that included the pattern, thread, fabric and frame. I have the frame to finish it, but wanted to share the stitching part. When it is all framed I will share again.

I just finished the stitching this and had to share. I started this last January as part of the Crazy January Challenge and I was looking through my stash and saw I only had a little left to stitch, so I pulled it out and finished it up. The pattern is from The Stitcherhood. It was a very pleasant and quick stitch. I hope to finish stitching a couple of more things before the end of the year.

I didn't do as much in 2011 as I was playing games on Facebook and stuff. But, I gave up on Facebook and got back into stitching. I really missed stitching and glad I picked it back up.

Where had the time gone?

Sorry I have been a bad blogger this pass week. Things have been crazy here. Still working on our major basement reorganization and getting ready for Christmas. We have also had an early Christmas with my parents as my mom has to work.

I have been stitching but haven't taken any pictures recently to share. Also have been trying to put my list together for the Crazy January Challenge. I am going to start 31 new projects. They are all fairly small and most are Christmas or Halloween themed. I will share my list of starts in my next post hopefully.

We are visiting with company, so I have to run.

Hi All,

Sorry I have missed the pass two days. We are doing a major reorganization of our basement and that has been taking up alot of my time. It is alot of hard work, but it will be great when it is all done.

I have been doing a little stitching, but haven't taken a picture to share yet. I will try and do that tonight and share it tomorrow.

Are you all ready for Christmas? I will be very soon. I just have to wrap the presents for my side of the family and then I am done. We are having Christmas with my family this weekend, so it needs to get done soon.

You'd Better Not Pout Finishing Contest

I'm telling you why, Santa Claus is coming to town!

Here he is! Well, the start of Santa anyways. This is You'd Better Not Pout by SamSarah. It is a fast and very fun stitch. I just need to fill in his eyebrows and add some swirls under his mustache and then he is all done.

I am trying to figure out how to finish him. I would love suggesstions as to how you would finish him! Let me Know your suggestions, and if I choose your suggestion to finish him off, I will send you a stitching surprise in the mail. I will choose a winner on Dec. 16th. Then I will spend the weekend of December 17th off, so he will be on my tree before Christmas. Get those thinking caps on and let me know how to finish him.

I did all my Christmas baking today. I made three different kinds of cookies, (I hate to bake) so I am happy those are done. I also dipped pretzels in chocolate, make Wheat Chex, Rice Chex, made Bacon and Eggs for the kids. If you are wondering what Bacon and Eggs are, take two stick pretzels and put them together. Put a dallop of melted white choclate on the pretzels and add a yellow M&M. The white chocolate is for the white part of the egg and the yellow M&M is the egg york. Kids love them, and they are very fast to make.

Just need to finishing wrapping a few presents and them I am all done. I am almost all ready for the holidays. How about you.

My daughter is calling me! So!

I don't know what is going on with Blogger today, but it will only let me add 1 picture and it is getting really frustrating. Everytime I try to add another picture, I get an error saying blogger is not responding. Get you act together blogger.

Here is a pin pillow I finished up. The design is from Blackbird Designs. I don't remember the fabric I used, but I did use the recommened threads. I just love how it turned out. It was such a joy to stitch.

That is what I have to share in pictures tonight. Since my parents are visiting, not much stitching has been going on. It has been go, go, go. I am looking forward to a bunch of stitching time this weekend. The one great thing is my mom loves to sew, so she has been sewing some ornaments for me from some things I had stitched earlier this year. I hope to have a tree next year that is all stitched ornaments, and with me being able to stitch them and my mom sew, it looks like that will happen!

I am planning to do some stitching tonight though, so I will have some pictures to share tomorrow. I am going to start You'd Better Be Good from SamSarah. I am doing the Santa face first. I think it would look really cute small and then finished as a flat fold ornament to put on the tree. What is everyone else stitching on? I love to be enabled, enough though I have enough to last a life time.

Good Morning! Don't have alot of time, as I have to get the kiddos ready for school, but I wanted to share my picture of No Peeking. I finished the stitching on it last night. I hope to get it completely finished off and on the tree in the next few days.

No Peeking is from an old Better Home & Gardens Christmas Cross Stitch Book. It was alot of fun to stitch and No Peeking fits my kiddos so well. Please let me know what you think!

I Had Great Intentions

I had all intentions of finishing the stitching on No Peeking last night, but it didn't happen. Then I was off to bed early.

I spent today shopping with my mom and the kids. We took the kids to have their picture with Santa. It turned out cute and all the relatives will be getting a picture with their Christmas present. Also finished up my Christmas shopping today. It feels so good to be done. I don't want to mess with the crowds anymore.

I am off to stitch. I really want to finish up No Peeking tonight so I can share a pictur tomorrow.

No Picture :(

I had every intention of finishing the stitching on No Peeking last night, but alas, it did not happen. I got a few stitches put in, but not enough. I am hoping I will have time to finish it up tonight and share a picture tomorrow. Also trying to figure out what I will start next. So many choices, so little time.

The DH and I took the kids to have Breakfast with Santa today. The kids had a blast. They got to have breakfast and have their pictures taken with Santa. They also had games with prizes for the kids and craft projects. They made the cutest stocking using pom poms. They also made wood wreaths and decorated them with sequins and other little do dads. I will try and remember to take a picture and post it.

Hard to believe that 3 weeks from today is Christmas Eve. Are you all done shopping yet? I have two more presents to buy and I am done. Then comes the undaunting task of wrapping them. I hate wrapping. Would someone like to come and wrap for me. I can spare some stash for compensation :).

No Peeking

Sorry it's not the best picture, but here is the piece I am stitching on now. It is called No Peeking and from an old Better Homes and Gardens Christmas Cross Stitch book. I have loved this design since I saw it 2 years ago and have finally gotten around to stitching it. I hope to finish it up tonight. Just need to finish up the presents and stitch the Christmas tree.

My parents are coming to visit this weekend and will be here for 5 days. I am hoping to get some of my older pieces I have stitched finished off. My mom is a great sewer and loves to do this type of thing. I need to learn how to sew, but I would rather stitch. Does anyone else not like the sewing part like me? Or am I the only one out there? I see so many beautiful finishes on other blogs and think to myself I would love to be able to do that. Maybe after the New Year I will take the plunge and learn to sew. Anyone else want to learn with me?

December 1st Already

Really!! Where has the time gone since my last post? It has been crazy here in Crazyville. There hasn't been much stitching going on. First, I had swelling of my tendons in my right wrist, so that made stitching almost impossible. With some rest, anti-inflammatories, and a wrist brace, it is feeling much better. Then I developed a sinus infection with a double ear infection. After two weeks of antibotics, and other medications, I am feeling human again.

I have been telling myself for awhile I was going to blog every day and it never happened. So, I went ahead and signed up for the December NaBloPoMo. Please bear with me, while I get the hang of this blogging every day.

Long Time & a Picture

Hi All,

First let me say, I am so sorry I haven't posted in awhile. It has been a crazy few months here. Summer flew by and then before we knew it, it was time for school to start. My son has started 2nd grade and my daughter started Full Day Kindergarten. She is not sure of it yet. She is always asking to stay home because she supposely doesn't like school. I think it is just an adjustment. She is not use to being away from me all day. She did go to preschool, but that was only for 2.5 hours. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to help her?

I have been stitching, just not sharing. I will get pictures of the items I have got stitched and share them next time. I do want to share this picture though. This is the piece I received from Lynn. We were part of the Lizzie Kate Exchange Blog and she sent to me. I couldn't get a good picture, but the pillow is beautiful in person. It definately makes a great addition to my autumn basket. Thank you so much Lynn. I absouletly love it.

I have to cut this short. Need to get the son ready for school.

July Goals

Hi All,

Sorry I haven't been around much. The 2 kida are keeping me really busy. Liam is doing karate and loving every minute. He can't wait until the. Liam is going in second gardeend of August so he can takehis firkaraTe test for hisred belt. Talia is busy with swim lessons and learning magic. We have even been to the pool a bunch. Unfortunately summer will be over before we know it and it will be back to school. Liam will be going into second and Talia is going into kindergarten. Where is the time going?

I have decided to start posting my monthly goals ain. Hopefully this will help me get back to posting on my blog again. Here are my goals for July.

1. Lets be Frank from VeeandCo
2. Lizzie Kate Autumn Alphabetat least half stitched.
3. Start Bent Creek Halloween mantle

Summer/4th of July Exchange

Sorry it has been awhile since I posted. I have been getting our house ready to go on the market. We are trying to sell and relocate to FL. We are hoping all works out for us. Now that the house is on the market, I am hoping to have more time to stitch and post on my blog.

I have a HUGE FAVOR PLEASE. I have fallen in love with the pattern Valentine Holiday by Birds of a Feather. It is discontinued and I can't find it anywhere. Slowly Making Changes

Sorry I haven't been around for awhile. I have been dealing with chronic sinus infections and just haven't felt like being on the computer much. But since we are coming to the beginning of a new yaer, I am going to make changes to my blog.

The first change you can see it the name of my blog. I am a Wizard of Oz fan, so I wanted to include somethine from the movie into the name of my blog, hence where the OH My comes from.

I will be changing the background soon and also some other little things. I have joined 2 challenges from next year. I think i must be crazy, but maybe this way I willl get some things stitched that I have been itiching to stitch. I joined the challenge where you will start a new project everyday from Jan. 1st-Jan. 15th 2011, then you try to finish them up during the year. The other challenge is to stitch on 15 different WIPS and try to finish them during the year. That is 30 new things I could get finished for my house next year. I think I can do it.

I will post the lists for both challenges as soon as they are both done. I have to run now, as the kiddos are hungry and I need to go make supper.

Hi All! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Summer flew by and then it was time for school to start. I have been really busy with my kiddos schools this year. I also got elected to our Home & School board and that is taking up more time than I though, but hopefully that will change soon.

Long Time

No Post! Sorry I haven't been around to post sooner. Now that the kids are out of school, we have been uber busy. Friends, pools, sending time with grandma and grandpa and now getting ready to go to a family reunion this weekend. Next week starts swimming lessons for both of the kiddos. They are both so excited. They love the water!

I have been doing alot of stitching at night, but just haven't taken any pictures of my stitching lately. I will post pictures of my stitching and pictures from the family reunion next week.

Anyone Up For a SAL?

I was wondering if anyone is up for a Carriage House Samplings SAL. I have her Alphabets Blocks and would love to get a start on it. Since is will be my first big project, I could use some encouragement. You can stitch the same chart, or if you have another chart from CHS you wish to start, you can use that.

I was thinking that Saturday could be our CHS Stitching Day. At the end of each Saturday, we can post a picture to our blog or photo album with our progess for that day.

I don't know why this picutre is sideways, This is Walking on Eggs from Shepherds Bush. It was a fun, quick stitch. I love stitching Shepherds Bush kits and charts. They are so much fun.

Shepherds Bush Wishing Ewe a Merry Christmas. This is a freebie from a few years ago that I got at my LNS. I love the little sheep charm that is on it.

I received this beautiful pinkeep from Courtney as part of the Arbor Day Exchange at the Holiday Exchanges blog. I love the colors in the piece. The beads around the edge match the colors in the piece Perfectly. Thank you so much Courtney. I love it!

Just Another Manic Monday

Happy Monday! Where did the weekend go? It just flew by and it sure didn't help that we had to spring ahead this last weekend. That sure throws myself and the kiddos for a loop. I so did not want to get out of bed this morning, but finally made it.

I have a ton of things to do today. I help out in my son's classroom this morning, then lunch with a girlfriend and her son, grocery shopping, easter shopping and I am sure I am forgetting something.

Before I am off for the today, I wanted to share and exchange I received. I was part of the LHN/CCN exchange from the HOE Blog and Natasha sent me this wonderful pillow. She finished it into a wonderful pillow, (which she said was her first attempt at) and she did a wonderful job stitching and finishing it. Thank you so much Natasha, I LOVE IT! She also included a beautiful purple skein of floss, a plant stitch and a homemade card. I was truly spoiled I am sorry the picture is not the best, but I couldn't find the right lighting and I just had to share this.

Last, but definatly not least, here is a picture of my daughter Talia. She will be 4 in less than 2 months. It is so hard to believe that she will be 4. Where has the time gone. I took this of her this morning before we left for preschool. She love going to school and is sad she only goes 3 days a week. Thankfully she will be going 4 days a week next year as she loves it so much. I would love to share a picture of my son, but he is being camera shy. Don't know why. I guess that's what a 5 year old does. I will get one of him soon and post it for all to see.

Update on Mom

Hi All,

I asked in the last post for prayers for my mom and just wanted to give everyone an update. her surgery was 7 hours long. Every went well with surgery, but she is still in recovery. The doctor said she would be in recovery 2-3 hours and then would be moved to her room. She will be in the hospital 2-3 days.

If you could still continue with the prayers, I would greatly appreciate it. She has a long recovery ahead. She will be off work at least 3 months, but possibly more.

Thank you to all for your continued prayers and I will keep you updated on my mom.

I do have some finishes to share, but will share them in another post in the next day or two.

Easter Quaker Ornaments

Hi,

The chart has been released by CindyMae Designs, so I can now share the Easter Ornaments I model stitched for her. They were so much fun to stitch and each of them stitched up in a few hours. I finished them off to look like Easter Eggs. Tell me what you think. Did I do a great job.

Hey! I hope everyone had a very Happy and Safe New Year. Ours was very low key. We spent New Years Eve at home with the kids. I was surprised that they both made it to midnight and then crashed. Since we stayed home I got alot of stitching done. You can see the pictures below.

I hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas and spent some wonderful time with family. I had a great Christmas with my family.

I have started to get myself organinzed for the New Year and started with my stitching. As you can see on the left side of my blog I made a list of what I would like to stitch in 2010. I know I won't be able to get everything done, but it is a place to start. I still have more to add to the list, but am hoping that this will keep me on track and I can thin out some of my stash. I also am going to continue doing a few exchanges and hope to do some model stitcihng for a deisgner too.

I was thinking of doing a giveaway of my charts when I am finished stitching them. When I get them stitched I will post a picture of the chart and my stitched piece to my blog. You will then have say 3 days to leave a comment and I will draw a winner. I will mail anywhere. What do you think. I would love to hear from you.

I have to run. Need to feed the kids and take our dog to training. Will post again soon

Christmas & Halloween SALS for 2010

I have been busy getting everything together for next years stitching and I thought it would be fun to have friends to stitch along with. I have decided to do a Christmas & Halloween SAL for next year. For the SALs we can stitch 1 ornament a month and finish it. When it is stitched you can post it to the blog and receive a entry into the monthly drawing. If the ornament is completely finished you will receive 2 entries into the drawing and at the end of the month I will ranadomly drawer a winner from the entries for the Christmas ornaments and a winner for theHalloween ornaments. The winner will receive a small prize from me then.

December Goals

Hey All,

Hard to believe that December is already upon us. The hosue is decorated for the holidays, now to get the presents wrapped and I should be all set.

I did okay on my November goals, but hop to do better with my December goals.

There were my November Goals:
1. Finish Off The Deep End by Raise the Roof DIDNT TOUCH YET
2. Finish Shepherd's Bush ornament from this year's JCS ornament issue ALMOST
3. Stitch Prairie Schooler Free Chart from her website twice COMPLETED
4. Finish Spooky Halloween Tree from The Trilogy COMPLETED
5. Start & Finish Frank N Boo from Bent Creek DIDNT EVEN START
6. Stitch another Christmas ornament of my choosing. COMPLETED
7. Stitch heart on RR COMPLETED

December Goals:
1. Finish Prairies Schooler Ornament for Exchange
2. Stitch Prairie Schooler Ornament for me
3. Finish Shepherds Bush Ornament
4. 10 hours on Off the Deep End from Raise the Roof
5. Stitch another Prairie Schooler Ornament for me
6. Start choosing what I am going to stitch next year. I would like to stitch 1 small piece a week so i would have 52 finished pieces by the end of the year and could have a cross stitch Christmas tree next year. Start picking those out.
7. Stitch one free chart a month from my stash. I have hundreds of them and would like to get some of them stitched and will choose the 12 I want to stitch next year.

I think I can get these completed. I will post what I choose to stitch as far as my free charts and my weekly smalls. I will also stitch on my bigger projects to. Next year I am going to try and buy only threads and fabrics as I need them and finish up some of the stuff I already have.

Do You Think I Love Halloween?

Hi,

I have been stitching up a storm this last week and also have been doing some finishing. Here is what I have been doing. I think we are finally getting over the sickness that has been going through this house. We have all had our flu shots now and I hope that will help ward some of this stuff off. Though, I have to worry about strep throat right now, as it is going through my son's school. I am already looking forward to Spring and Summer and having these sickness be gone.

I will be back on Sat. with an update on Something Wicked from LA D DA. It sure is a fun stitch. I hope to have it done by Halloween, as my mom is coming to visit and I would like to send it back with her, to have it framed at my framer's.

Hey,

Well, I have been having startitis lately and started something new last night. You can see the before and after pictures from last night's stitching. It is so much fun to stitch, that I just might be able to keep on with it until it is done. It is really stitching up faster than I thought.

I think after this is finished I should go through my WIPs basket and finish stitching up some things. It is really, really full. I won't tell you how much things are in there and you can't make me.

I have to get the kiddos some breakfast and then take DH to the doctor. He has had a nasty cold for over a week and now he says his lungs feel heavy. Time to get checked out my love.

Sick, Sick, Sick

Hey Everyone,

Not much going on around here. The whole family has been sick. It started with Liam, then I got it and ended up on antibotics, which I just finished. My DH came down with it when he got back from Miami and now Talia has it. I have to take Talia to the doctor tomorrow morning, as she is not eating much and complaining that her ear and forehead hurt. I think she either has a sinus or ear infection.

On the stitching front, not as much as I like going on. I did finish Pumpkin Patch from Prairie Schooler and the Wicked free chart from Primitivebetty, but that is about it. I will post pictures in the next couple of days, when everyone is feeling better.

I am off to stitch on Quaker Pumpkin from CIndyMae Designs. I am hoping to finish it up tonight.

Received a couple of wonderful packages & a couple of WIPS

Hi,

Here are a couple of my WIPS and a couple of exchanges I received.

The first picture is a WIP of mine. It is called Pumpkin Patch by Prairie Schooler. I am stitching it 1 over 2 on 36ct. Parchment from WDW. I am using the recommened DMC floss. It is a really fun stitch.

This is Boo by Charland Designs. It is from last year's JCS Halloween magazine. I am stitching it on 32ct. linen call Boo from Dying 4 U. I am using DMC Black and will use white for the eyes. It is also really fun to stitch and stitching up really quickly.

I received these squares from Jill as part of the Fair & Square Blog. Jill did a wonderful job stitching. She read my blog that I loved Halloween and I was able to take this out my to do pile. But have already added something to that pile in its place. Thank you so much Jill. It is truly wonderful.

This exchange is from Faye as part of the Hooked on Exchanging blog. She stitched and finished a wonderful piece for me from Lizzie Kate. It already has a special place in my basket that I keep all my exchanges in that I receive. Faye also made me a cute scissor fob, which is going on my scissors tonight, as I am always losing them. She also sent a charm, some patriotic ribbon, a piece of 28ct. linen, some red linen and summer stickers. Thank you so much Faye. It is beautiful.

It is wonderful to see all the wonderful, talented stitcheres that are out there. Let's all keep sharing our love of stitching with everyone we can.

Received a Package

Today I received my Christmas in July package (Hooked on Exchanging Blog) from Sadie. She stitched me a small christmas piece by Little House Needleworks. I love it. She did a wonderful job on it. My son has already asked me to make the Santa kit for him, and I will do the dog for my daughter as she loves dogs.

On the stitching front, I am stitching on a quaker house as part of a summer house exchange and a Stitcher's Sampler from the designer The Stitcherhood. I will both pictures of both as soon as I can.

The family and I are off on vacation on Friday afternoon. I am excited. We are off to see panda bears and mountains and what ever else on the way.

Some Finishes & Exchange Pieces

Hi,

After some computer issues, I back finally and able to post a few pieces of some of my finishes and a few exchange pieces I have received.

The first picture are the squares I received from Pokua. They are very pretty and the picture does not do them justice. This is a Halloween piece I stitched from Blackbird Designs from their Trix or Treat booklet. It was alot of fun to stitch and I can't wait to finish it into a pillow.

This is another piece I stitched that is from Blackbird Designs that is also in their Trix or Treat booklet. I am going to finish it into a small Halloween stocking and put some candy in it.

If you couldn't tell, I was in a Blackbird Design kick for a little while. This is also from their Trix or Treat booklet and will be made into a pinkeep.

These squares were from Karen and were part of the F&S Exchange 4th of July Round. She stitched me a Shepherd's Bush Deisgn. I love it.

Finally, last, but not certainly least, this is a Just Nan piece that I received in an exchange from the Hooked on Exchanging blog. Caroline stitched this for me and she did a wonderful job. The inside have lavender in it and smells wonderful. Thank you so much

That is all for now. My family and I have a wedding on the 4th of July to attend and the rest of the time I am going to spend stitching. I will post pictures of what I worked on on Monday.
